T.F.T.H. Flesh Moon

Basic Information

Anatomy

This titan class parasitic creature is an apex predator, even above all other titan class entities that exist on any planet one could imagine. This creature is composed of flesh and organic material stripped from the entire planet it once belonged to, and is now completely fused together as a mass of pulsating fleshy growths that work in tandem despite how twisted and disjointed the anatomy is. Plains of flesh, seas of blood, mountains of bone--all composed around the very planet it was created from, before that too was ejected from its newly formed body as baren space rock, until nothing's left but the aberration that haunts the stars. The only thing that gives this entity a face is the continent sized mouth on it, looking to consume planets for more organic mass.

Genetics and Reproduction

While it will consume most planets that it comes upon for the life they harbor, planets that are infected but are too far away for the moon to consume, or if the moon is somehow killed before it can consume the planet in question, then the flesh growth on the planet will spread on its own. If it manages to overtake the entire planet, then this planet will become a new flesh moon.

Growth Rate & Stages

This is in fact the final stage of the parasitic flesh growth that starts out as a molecular larva that infects hosts through contact with the flesh it creates out of organic material. While these moons have that same capability, they are much more interested in the consumption of planets in their entirety in order to grow larger.

Ecology and Habitats

Generally these entities prefer dense star clusters with the highest chance for life to be found around the stars. This allows them to infect the most planets with the highest probability of finding one with actual life to consume. However, they are not restricted from infecting any place in the universe due to being able to self-sustain, and are often wandering around all reaches of any galaxy.

Dietary Needs and Habits

With a whole planet's worth of fleshy growths that are more than capable of sustaining itself, the creature has no real needs outside of its desire to spread the parasite further and further. It does require objects to cover in order to grow larger, and as a consequence it shrinks as it sends out the parasitic flesh in different directions. It does at times use old pieces of the planet it used to be, or asteroids it finds, in order to accomplish this same task without the drawback of losing much of its mass.

Additional Information

Facial characteristics

The only discernible feature on this aberration is the large toothy maw it has on the side of it that could cover an entire land mass on any other planet. This is what it uses to tear into planets it wishes to consume--especially if it has life presently on it.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Currently it is thought that a few hundred thousand of these entities exist in a singular galaxy, making them rare enough that they are not an immediate threat, though due to how quickly the growths can grow, it can turn into one very quickly.

Average Intelligence

Unlike some of the small creatures made of this parasitic flesh that live on these moons, the moons themselves don't really have much of an intelligence outside of a killer instinct when hunting down planets that have life on them. They tend to be very inactive when not directly hunting a target planet, and don't appear to do much while in this sleep-like state.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

This massive flesh growth has the inherent capability to sense organic material from multiple light years away, and will actively seek out any planet harboring life on it for its own gain. It does this mostly by firing out tiny meteors covered in the same parasitic flesh it’s composed of, allowing the flesh to infect planets that may harbor life. If the flesh detects organic material, the moon will be alerted.

Average Physique
Flesh moons are what they sound like, and thus have the physique needed to tear apart whole planets. The aberration is rarely larger than a proper planet, hence the designation of "moon", but its large gaping maw is more than capable of tearing chunks from a planet in order to grow into a size more capable of swallowing them whole. It has yet to be seen, but it is theorized this is possible.
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
While the flesh growth covering the surface of a flesh moon has the same appearance up close as it normally would for most creatures related to it, from a distance the coloration is a much more vibrant red, like fresh cut meat. While there are those darker hues of purple and brown, they don’t stand out as much.
