Stone Body

Basic Information

Anatomy

The stone bodies appear to be a humanoid body made of stone as the name implies. The overall structure of the actual framework is reminiscent of someone wearing segments of armor over a whole leather outfit like medieval warriors used to wear. Despite this, the pieces look almost new aged in design and have a somewhat sci-fi appearance, matched by the engravings on it that look alien. The eyes glow a bright blue when one is alive and awake.

Ecology and Habitats

Stone bodies are artifacts left over from a previous species or civilization, thus where they aren't put to use by current day civilizations, they can be found in the ruins of the ancient one they once belonged to. Oftentimes doing their normal routine for the thousands of years they have been active for.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Despite being essentially automatons, these creatures do require some form of soul energy since they are, in some shape or another, elementals drawn from the spirit realm. Luckily, the technology used to create them is so advanced that their systems appear to be self sufficient, and any outside addition to their system or fuel is unnecessary. Though they do appear to work quicker in areas where such ambient energy is more dense.

Behaviour

Stone bodies are notorious for being fundamentally curious and quirky entities that are completely harmless to the people around them outside of accidental blunders and mistakes made during the operation or construction of something. While they have no way to speak to people they can speak to other stone bodies perfectly fine and seem capable of mass coordination with each other.

Additional Information

Social Structure

The social structure of the stone bodies mimics that of the social structure of the society they find themselves in. Due to their curiosity, they do a lot of mimicking, and tend to try and repeat what they see their masters do in their spare time. Frequently they are found together during the after hours of a day of labor, just trying things out together such as wearing silly clothes or attempting to cook recipes they witnessed.

Domestication

These creatures were built with service in mind, and thus are naturally inclined to be tamed by civilizations that they run into, however if they do not find such a home they can form their own civilization, or rather a temporary one doing most of what they already did in the ruins of their old home until someone comes across them. Very little is needed to teach them a new routine, just a new home for them to stay in.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

This species is often used for construction, basic jobs, and exploration. They are particularly useful due to how indestructible and strong they are, making them perfect for walking through fire, dart, or poison traps as if they were nothing, lifting heavy loads, or just automating a few small processes around the shop. In trade they are typically given a home, and time to spend with other stone bodies since they seem to enjoy sharing their experiences.

Facial characteristics

Their head, much like how their body is reminiscent of an armor set, looks like a helmet. There is very little on this headpiece that stands out aside from the engravings and the large, blue, glowing eyes that they contain. There is not much else noteworthy about them aside from these details.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Since stone bodies were once servants of a long lost civilization, their distribution matches that of the once proud civilization almost one for one. The only difference in the current day is that stone bodies have been brought from those ruins and are now working within the provinces of current civilizations in all fields--including the construction of more stone bodies.

Average Intelligence

While they have no real way to speak, and their technology is beyond the understanding of the people of today so no voice box can be created to give to them, they appear to be hyper intelligent. They respond perfectly to the people around them, and appear to be capable of communication among themselves. They are even capable of writing, which is one way it can relay a message to others who can’t understand them.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Given they only have the ability to see through the visors which they can scan objects through, they often rely on this sight for all their information. They also can hear as well, but despite this have no further capabilities.

Average Physique
Due to their constructed bodies being made of stone, it is very difficult for someone to really hurt a stone body. They, in turn, are also incredibly strong and can lift quite a lot with this strength as a result. While they certainly have the capability to be dangerous, it is incredibly rare for a stone body to become rogue, or to attempt to harm another human or stone body. In fact, rogue stone bodies are met with hostility from other stone bodies most of the time.
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Their body tint can change a bit depending on the material that was used to make them. Despite having the name stone body, they can actually have quite a few materials embedded within their frames such as metals, clay, stone, and even plastic or porcelain. Stone or clay happens to be the most common component, which tends to give most of them a brown, yet glossy, look to them.
