Raderon ((Raa-der-on))

Basic Information

Anatomy

These titan class eldritch creatures have ultra massive bodies that levitate seamlessly in the air. The main body is crab-like, with a shell across its back and claws such as the two massive appendages that it has on either side of its head. Both of which is where the geography of the surroundings it burrows itself into seems to form over the hundreds of thousands of years they slumber. The underside of its body appears to be soft in comparison however, and has multiple large appendages waving about much like octopus tentacles.

Growth Rate & Stages

Raderons are incredibly slow growers. When one is slain and returned to the earth by the eldritch god that created them, it will burrow into the ground near where it landed where it will then sleep for hundreds of millennia. It feeds off the life force of the very land around it, especially the flora that forms on top of it, until one day it is awoken by some outside force when they have grown to ultra-massive sizes.

Ecology and Habitats

There is no habitat that a raderon can not survive in. In fact, it is rather common to see different types of raderon that do different things based on the environment they have made their home. This can range from raderons with mountains on their back, to ones with active volcanoes spewing from their bodies.

Behaviour

Raderons tend to remain dormant unless they are purposely awoken, or their eldritch patron summons them forth. For this reason, many cults and religions are born due to the threat a raderon poses to a society that happened to either develop on top of or near one, while many doomsday cults form around summoning one.

Additional Information

Facial characteristics

The head juts out near the base of its body and is rather small. Despite the arguable uselessness of it, the head sports a massive teeth ladened mouth that has the capacity to tear apart anything that it manages to snag with it. Right above this are its nostrils and very narrow eyes, which are the primary senses it uses to track down nearby settlements for destruction.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Due to how rare the raderon is, it has a reasonably poor geographic distribution, despite being essentially immortal. They are rather difficult to find due to being embedded into the land itself and seldomly cropping up in regions where there is a civilization currently established. Generally, it's the civilization that gets established near or on an already slumbering raderon, not the other way around.

Average Intelligence

While these creatures are tied to an eldritch entity vastly more complex than the mortal mind can comprehend, it doesn't have much of an intelligence on its own outside of hostility towards everything around it. While it can be calmed into a slumber once more, it will simply seek out large landmarks that it spots to destroy.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Due to the massive size of the creature, it mostly only has sight to go off of, since most things are vastly smaller than it. It does seem to have an awareness of much of the environment on top of its back however, and at times can detect prey through the flora and fauna that resides in the section of land it carries around.

Average Physique
These mountainous terrors are more than capable of rending the landscape apart, and obliterating whole cities with no real issue. Most villages and settlements would easily be destroyed by it simply dropping its whole body on top of it, making it one of the most dangerous entities on the planet simply by the physical scale alone.
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
The tint of its body will mostly resemble the natural terrain surrounding the raderon when it first burrowed into the earth. On top of this, much like how the terrain will change over thousands of years, so too will its coloration, markings, and tint in order to better match the environment forming on its back.
