F3N3X-1.0.3v

Basic Information

Anatomy

The F3N3X-1.0.3v is a class-1 self preservation AI module that managed to preserve itself in the dune wastes of a dystopian Earth--long enough to be found by other similar AIs and be put into a body through which it can build upon itself using scrap material in the wastes. These particular AIs harbor little intelligence, and appear to be only programmed for the sole purpose of preserving the metal bodies which they inhabit, though overtime these bodies have changed to better suit the environment they are found in. In this case, they tend to resemble a cross between coyotes and foxes, though the general wolf-like look tends to be due to a vague resemblance in the face, since most of the time the scrap bodies are made of parts that hardly complement the look.

Ecology and Habitats

These types of creatures tend to remain around junk yards and graveyards for ships, or at the very least tend to remain near them. As a result, they are not as common within cities as they are on the outskirts of them, especially around landfills. These particular ones are often found in more arid areas, and are more common in the west side of the United States.

Dietary Needs and Habits

While components to build their bodies are important, what they truly need a lot of is batteries, or ideally a location to charge their batteries. Without power, these fox-like robots will end up dying and being left to rust from the elements. This is the most common way for them to die, making this resource the primary reason for why they choose to live where they live, and oftentimes why they end up in fights with others. If one is lucky, they might find a charging station tied to a sustained city grid, allowing for an infinite well of energy to "drink" from. These kinds of sites are where they are mostly located.

Behaviour

While the job of a self sustaining AI is to preserve whatever it has been put in, years of being lost and fending for themselves has made them much more animalistic. They will howl and bark, they will form packs to roam with, and oftentimes act animalistic towards humans despite the origin of its creation.

Additional Information

Social Structure

While the F3N3X-1.0.3v are normally independent, much like how the AI was originally supposed to function, the years spent in nature has caused them to adopt the social structure of the animals they mimic. They have a tendency to form packs and scavenge with them, and can often be a bit territorial of valuable resources other packs are looking for such as rare parts or, more importantly, energy sources.

Domestication

It is completely possible to domesticate these creatures, and are sometimes seen in cities as pets. These particular cyber animals tend to have bodies that are completely fitted out to both resemble the animal in question, and, more importantly, have as many features as possible. While the creature isn't incredibly high maintenance, they tend to be seen as a more boujee pet due to the capability of being far more customizable than real animals.

Facial characteristics

These particular robots have a vaguely wolf or coyote-like head with two pointed ears, an elongated snout with a black nose, and narrow glowing eyes. The structure matches that of one of those animals, however this is not always entirely the case and can be subject to change depending on the parts they find.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

While there are similar creatures such as these found all over the world, provided the conditions of their creation be met, these particular ones are found in the more arid, hot locations of the United States. In particular they are found all over the place in more western states such as California, New Mexico, Arizona, etc.

Average Intelligence

Despite being AI they were never taught to be self sufficient learners, and only know as much as they are given. While modules added to their body might allow them to expand their database past the ship they were created in, mostly of the surrounding environment, this has only caused them to adapt to the environment, and begin mimicking the wild life around them. They, in turn, are no more intelligent than the wildlife that has presented themselves to the AI, thus their intelligence remains moot.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Due to being robotic in nature, they have the ability to scan the environment with a limited database on the things one might find around them in the specific location they call home This is on top of the information of components within crashed ships and other similar vehicles they have, through which they find the parts they use to build their bodies. They are also capable of using infrared and night vision through their visors.

Average Physique
The F3N3X-1.0.3v tends to be on the smaller end of the scale, and can be considered a bit bare boned due to being a frame stuck on exo-skeletal legs with a vaguely fox-like head attached to it. While they are very quick and nimble, they are not all that strong and tend to be prey for large robotic animals looking to add on to their bodies.
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Much like their physical structure, the color and tint can resemble the animal in question, but tend to be subject to the limitations of what parts are available to the AI. Given the chance they will make an effort to resemble the animal, but more often than not they tend to be more vaguely similar to the animal, rather than a one to one copy.
