Zanzilore

Situated on the western edge of the Sunarian Sea, Zanzilore is a dark and fearsome region, covered in dense jungle and murky mangrove swamps. There are very few urban centers in the country, as the thick foliage makes land clearance and agriculture incredibly difficult, for this reason some of the Zanzilori are thought to live deep in the forests and swamps, where contact to the outside world is incredibly rare. Remote and mysterious, little is known about the interior of the country, save that the forest has swallowed up anyone who has tried to probe its secrets. The only exception to this rule are the natives, who despite living in the jungle their whole lives, rarely leave the immediate location of their village.

Inhabitants and Settlement

Zanzilore's unique geography has limited the development of the country, but has also served to keep outsiders, like the Sunarians and the Zanarids away. This has ensured millennia of Independence for the two trade ports, which are accessible only by the sea. These two cities are called Zakere and Mambarla, and are essentially the only locations a foreigner can, or should visit in Zanzilore.
There exist no roads in the country of any sort, and even basic trails are rare, since the jungle spreads over anything man tries to build. Thus travel is done almost exclusively on the waterways or coast of the country, where the locals row in large dug out canoes to get around.
Rumors of forgotten cities, overgrown and in ruin exist scattered across Zanzilore, though it is unknown if these are credible accounts as outsiders rarely leave the safety of either city's walls.
