The Silence of Ïllume

Elven Prayer to Ïllume on The Silence of Ïllume

The great Ïllume was silenced tonight.   May his light shine great in the arms of his husband, Jörreg.   The silencer was our great Moon, which shines at night.   May the moon be punished for it's greed.   Ïllume would want not for us to panic.   His grace would wilt without the light of our laughter.   We shall give Ïllume our light.   If he is unable to shine, we will help shine for him.   Our dancing will bring light to the Arengold forest.   Our lanterns will show Ïllume our love.   Our women will grant Ïllume their smiles and love.   Our men will flatter him with their laughter and compliments.   And when Ïllume shines again,   He will return with light twice as gentle.   For The Light.
Afterwards, the Elves would perform a dance for the entirety of the 4 hour Eclipse. This dance includes 1 hour of practiced, choreographed material, and 3 hours of vibrant, passionate dancing.

The Silence of Ïllume

Also known as the Eclipse, the Silence of Ïllume occurs when the moon covers the star which shines on the Arengold Tree. The Silence occurs only once every 6 months, since the Moon of the Arengold Forest is significantly more wild and random in it's orbit; a result of it being created by Dumgarth at the year 2410. The Elves are the only beings who perform a dance during the Silence of Ïllume. The other races simply perform some ritual, worship, sacrifice, or offering to the light god. However, some races, like the Orcs who the Elves are allied with, have began dancing during the Eclipse. Some other races, like the Tengu and Kitsune, do smaller dancing rituals that last a mere 15 to 30 minutes, though with the same religious intentions.
