Heaven's Flood

The following was burnt onto the side of Midtrunk, along with the teachings of an Elven Ïorreg worshipper. It was retrieved by a Dwarven Forgemaster during the 2780 Dwarven Push.

Heaven's Flood

Ïorreg's Punishment Our Lady is fierce in her demands for her worshippers. Those who face her wrath will encounter a terrifying curse; their tears will flow plentifully and will burn as they leave. Each drop will cause more pain, and the pain will bring tears, in an infinite cycle that replicates our Lady's bringer of rain.
The particularities of the curse are at an impasse. While the Lady almost certainly curses those who anger her, she occasionally brings the curse to others. We must assume she has her methods, and remain cautious.
The curse may be cured, but only by those who vigorously repent for the sins brought upon Ïorreg's domain. Once a sign has been granted for the cursed, allow them rest. While they sleep, administer salt and bark scrapings to their eyes, near where the tears are produced. After the tears dry, apply the inside of the Jippu Fruit to the area. After a full night of rest, their tears should no longer flow.

While Heaven's Flood is often attributed to Ïorreg, it is actually a rare disease. It is a result of being exposed to the high branches, where the rare, godly metals embedded to the tree mix with the strange bark of the Arengold. Insects, such as Mosquitos and Dire Mosquitos, can bring the disease down from the top of the tree.
So far, due to a somewhat limited population of mosquitos, the disease is rare enough that only singular cases are seen across the Midtrunk and lower roots. However, mining expeditions usually require very careful protection of the eyes and arms to avoid massive crying pandemics.
