Session 9: The Mission

General Summary

After selling his soul to a mysterious hooded figure, Morres Leefa experienced a sleepless night at the Once Upon a Time Tavern, and as time ticked on, the others awoke to find his hair had turned stark white. You had breakfast downstairs, drank a bit, and spoke to Hugo and Damacles, who told you the citywide quarantine had ended, and a public execution would be held in the district square.     At the gallows you met the familiar Electa Bishop, and rescued several members of Operation Caterpillar, including the writer Quimby Bishop. You then made haste to the train station, intending to visit Petunia Quain for a well-deserved lunch.   While on the train, a letter from Lestie’s lost father was brought to her by a familiar middle-aged crow. In it, he stated that he was down on his luck, residing in Kosona, and would she, perhaps, come visit? Disembarking, you visited a sweet shop, where you met the proprietors, Maureen and Doreen, and indulged in their fudge, thoroughly taken aback by the relative luxuries of this part of the city, so unlike the smoggy hovels you’ve become used to.   Only a little late, you lunched with Petunia at her beautiful house at 14 Hellman Place. She showed you her mechanisms for tending to a glorious blossoming garden, the first of its kind you had seen in the city, aside perhaps from Quimby’s, and learned her father died in battle a year ago. You met her brother, and witnessed her somewhat tense relationship with her mother, who sat down with you and offered you a job – a covert rescue/reconnaissance mission to investigate the whereabouts of The Cardinal, a missing military airship, its captain, Major Llewelyn Glass; and his crew. You accepted the job and 200 gold each, more money than any of you had likely ever seen, and were instructed to visit a local marina, belonging to You ran a few more errands, visiting Mikhail and Nikolai, a tea merchant, and Josephine Shoes, before departing the city, catching the ferry across the run off moat and offering the brothers’ a few tips, including, ‘never meet your heroes.’
