Session 30: Discussions over Dinner

General Summary

The party, stationed in the Tawny Treads, prepared themselves for the dinner party at Giant’s Hill, agreeing that Varis and Satzla would accompany Carlo and Psylechka and eavesdrop on any important conversations between the guests. While the dinner went ahead, the rest of the group played monopoly, somewhat unsuccessfully, and Hester described the rules to ‘Either Or’. Over dinner, Carlo, Galatea, Buccio, and Gordov discussed everything from Captain Quain’s fate and the succession of her position to the varying results of Dr Gordov’s latest experiments, with the Adium Asai mentioning that she would reward anyone able to exterminate Sinara handsomely. General Buccio shot a cook, and Galatea gave Psyche permission to suck Carlo’s soul, somehow seeing through her illusion with surprising apathy.   Varis and Satzla returned to camp and the party went about their nightly activities, Hester taking watch, Lestie attempting to communicate with Ramia (to no end) and Teddy telling his ‘father’ (a stuffed lion/goat hybrid) of his recent adventures and his new followers.   As dawn broke over the 25th of Oliatos, you helped brothers and ex-journalism students Lincoln and Scout Marconi set up their tent and listened to the radio broadcast known as the Desperation Station; an underground transmission presented by a girl named Marion. Marion told of giants building inside Heaven’s Kitchen, the recent prison break at the Treasure Trove, a strange condition befalling the residents of West Parsley in which sufferers believe they are much stronger than they are and have died in a number of disturbing incidents. Marion also informed listeners that the sorcerer who usually operates the underwater railroad, Conductor Florian, has died in mysterious circumstances and the train will not be accessible until the 30th of Oliatos.   Teddy suggested that the party blow up the university, thus delaying The Oculus Trust’s plans for Sovereign’s Day. Teddy also informed the party of his links with the mole people. In order to access the pipes beneath Velija University, the party met with Rudolf, who warned them of the coming of Thangargl, the giant worm deity the mole people worship and fear. He also delivered you a riddle and a comprehensive maze of the pipes beneath the city and suggested a visit to Phyllis McAgney in East Market for explosives. Through a storage chamber beneath the university, you snuck in to warn the monks of the lectory. On the way, Teddy decided to take a peek inside the Dilution Department. A peek turned into an investigation, and a botched one at that, as an Oculus Trust scientist holds him by the scruff of the neck. Hearing the commotion, the party rushed to the door, and before deciding on a gameplan, Lestie kicked in the door.
