Poison Piss Sea

5 and a half years ago, a leviathan took a piss in a mostly-enclosed sea. Since then, that sea has been almost completely lifeless. Countless who relied on fishing and coastal agriculture for their food died and are still dying in a massive famine. Countless species have gone extinct.

Ships that try to cross this poisonous sea rot as they move through the waters, needing extremely thick hulls even for one-way trips, and anyone who gets a splash of water in their eyes, mouth or an open wound will die with a frothing mouth in minutes.̶T̶h̶e̶ ̶w̶a̶t̶e̶r̶ ̶b̶e̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶c̶i̶d̶i̶c̶ ̶d̶u̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶p̶o̶i̶s̶o̶n̶ ̶a̶l̶s̶o̶ ̶m̶e̶a̶n̶s̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶j̶u̶s̶t̶ ̶n̶o̶r̶m̶a̶l̶l̶y̶ ̶s̶t̶i̶c̶k̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶r̶ ̶h̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶w̶i̶l̶l̶ ̶g̶u̶a̶r̶a̶n̶t̶e̶e̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶r̶ ̶d̶e̶a̶t̶h̶ ̶o̶n̶c̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶s̶k̶i̶n̶ ̶h̶a̶s̶ ̶m̶e̶l̶t̶e̶d̶ ̶o̶f̶f̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶p̶o̶i̶s̶o̶n̶ ̶c̶a̶n̶ ̶s̶t̶a̶r̶t̶ ̶g̶e̶t̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶i̶n̶t̶o̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶r̶ ̶b̶l̶o̶o̶d̶s̶t̶r̶e̶a̶m̶.̶ Any claims that the water is corrosive are no longer canon as I've just realised that if it were corrosive it would've melted the countless fish and sea monster corpses floating in it, however it does still rot wood.

Aerial creatures often use the bigger carcasses as bases from which to attack humans and domesticated animals. Many of them lost their natural food sources due to the monster piss incident and so are resorting to this as a means of survival. Other aerial creatures have moved inland, especially in Lamara, and are causing all sorts of problems by contributing to food shortages, the spread of disease or just straight up attacking and even killing people.

The poison is even deadly to fungi and bacteria, and so the ocean's surface is covered in the corpses of fish and other aquatic lifeforms that will not rot for a long, long time... also known as the Forbidden Buffet for how inviting the possibility of eating them seems, but how terrible of an idea eating them under any circumstance is as there's currently no known way to neutralise or remove the poison from this massive theoretical food supply. Some of these aquatic creatures are larger than entire towns, and the massive areas where they're layered atop one another have given people more of an idea of just what kind of monstrosities lay below the depths.

It's also proven that the ocean is far deeper than anyone realised. New undiscovered creatures are still floating to the surface after dying from the poison, as even to this day it hasn't yet reached the deepest ocean floors.

This sea touches the entire West coast of Lamara, most of the coast of the Black Forest and almost all of the coast of the Derrippi Mountains (haven't made an article on them but: Big Mountains).

There are massive concerns about it leaking out into the Warring Ocean - named not for the naval battles between humans but those of its native wildlife - in which case it could doom Lamara's West coast, what remains of the coasts of the Black Forest and Derrippi Mountains, the Spirit Desert, the Turtle Steppe, the Isle of Meklasa and I think you get the gist pretty much everyone is fucked if that happens. Over 90% of the Spirit Desert's population lives on its coast, the Sea People live primarily on small islands and the Sky Fishers are (you won't believe this) reliant on fishing to survive, so they're the most fucked out of anyone.

Overall, 10/10, would get my pet super-monster Walter to piss in an almost-enclosed sea and in doing so potentially collapse multiple civilizations again.

Geography

Endless ocean that looks the same as normal... other than the endless floating sea creature corpses.

Ecosystem

There is none. Everything is dead or going to be dead.

Natural Resources

If a means of neutralizing the poison in or removing the poison from all those sea creature corpses were found it could be a practically infinite source of food. So theoretical endless food supply, but the actual reality at hand is a lack of food since people were already fishing in that water and now can't, on top of all the coastal agriculture being fucked.
