In earlier times, a strong mixture of beer, gin, sugar and ginger. It was commonly made to be drunk in the morning, and hence the liquor is called Morning Pearl. We do the same, adding a tincture of Whittlesauce to ensure lengthy keep." Pearlman Whit advertising his sauces at the Vittlefair of 234AH   MUM "A kind of strong, sweet beer... supposed to have been brewed by Chystan Mumme of Northwood. We are informed that the exclamation Mum! Mum! is used to express satisfaction with good liquor, and the expression of admiration might easily be taken as the name of the liquor which excited the feeling.... In the same way it may be conjectured that the liqueur, mentioned by our older dramatists under the name of hum, took its name from the hum which in this country was a recognized expression of approbriation." Sir Wedgewood in his scroll Ancient Northwood and Its People 243AH   ALL SORTS "A slang term designating the drippings of glasses in saloons, collected and sold at half-price to drinkers who are not overly particular." Sylva Clappin's Dictionary of the Southlands 342AH

Execution

Many travel to the Vittlefair to display their goods and advertise their spatulas. It is a time when you can meet people from other areas and see what has been done/invented. The various entries in the sale, aside from giving the seller needed coins, allow the exchange of information and technique.

Components and tools

Tables line the main square. The townspeople hosting the fair that year donate their kitchen tables and stools. Tarps are balanced above on long poles and ropes for welcome shade purposes. Clay Mound Ovens line the other side of the square.

Observance

After harvest but before any unpleasant weather makes travel impossible.
