The Kingdom of Pomas
Structure
History
Lord Ian Blackthorne was an adventurer who hailed from Ardia. he and his fellow adventurers and their followers (The One Hundred Companions) came to what was then known as the Pomarj, a wilderness region on the blood coast with the intent of clearing it of monsters and establishing a kingdom of his own.
He began his campaign in the year 1608 CE, Starting in the south where he and the companions routed several orc and gobliniod tribes which called the banewood there home and eradicated the bullywugs in the red-marsh.
Pushing north, they drove out the Frost Giants of the Galvani Rift and established favorable relations with the Mountain Dwarf Citadel of Kallabastian as well as a Hill Dwarf community in what is now known a Dwarfton. Blackthorne also secured the support of an old witch who resided in the red-marsh around this time, who provided him with advice and aid.
By the year 1612 CE he had cleared out most of the area south of the Oldwood. The Oldwood itself however was infested with dark fey and trolls which proved to be challenge for the Companions and it took another three years to bring it to heel.
The northern reaches of the Pomarj were home to several human and orc Barbarian tribes who often warred against one another. using a divide and conquer approach Blackthorne befriended several of these tribes and assisted them in eradicating their enemies. He secured the lands south of the river reed by the winter of 1617 CE.
At this point only one more real challenge stood between Blackthorne and his dream, A powerful Bronze dragon named Takhasis, whom he slew in 1618 CE. After slaying the dragon, he proclaimed the Kingdom of Pomas, laying claim to all lands north of the rooster River.
Construction of the capital began immediately, funded by the wealth of the dragons horde and speed up by the magics of the magic-user Anton Montessi and the stonemasonry skills of the Kallibastian Mountain Dwarves and the tunneling skills of a friendly Kobold tribe he had befriended.
The Kingdom was officialy recognized by first Ardia in 1619 CE and soon after by Lantami, Zor and Gregara.
