House of Elmanrah

We believe in Elmanrah - the spirit of the eternal sands
The House of Elmanrah is the major religion of Nars'kah. They believe in the single god Elmanrah, who is represented on Earth by the sand and watches over his people - guiding them towards the path that will allow them to shed their corporeal form and join him in the eternal sands.

History

Founding

According to legend, the House of Elmanrah was founded in 664 AE by a man called Nayan . Nobody knew who Nayan was when he walked into the town centre of one of the large cities at the time, nobody could recall who his parents were or where he had come from.   It soon became clear that Nayan did not have any parents, and had come from a place beyond Tersupra - the Eternal Sands. As Nayan travelled Nars'kah and preached the word of Elmanrah, people discovered that he was Elmanrah incarnate on Earth - allowing them to learn about him and follow him.   Nayan travelled far across the desert, gathering a large mass of followers that followed him to Elhaj - a moderately sized town back then. It was there that he founded the House of Elmarah, using the support of his followers to build a Temple and appointing many of them as High Priests to help spread the word further.   Eventually, the Temple had been built and the House of Elmanrah had become a major organisation across Nars'kah - having many followers. It was around this time that they came into conflict with the Shamans - the previous major religion that was born out of the rites of ancient tribes, believing in spirits that communicate with us.   The Shamans gathered an army to help destroy the temple, declaring it heresy. The followers of the House of Elmanrah had gathered their own weapons, prepared to fight for their faith - but Nayan stopped them.   He held out his hand over the army. Suddenly, all their weapons turned to dust, their purses filled with coin, their diseases were cured and their injuries healed. As the army looked around in astonishment, Nayan said the now famous quote:
How can you not believe when you have seen the power of Elmanrah?
This prompted an even larger conversion, as many followers of the Shamans and the Shamans themselves converted and followed the teachings of Elmanrah.

Hail Elmanrah
