Kitrick

Kitrick Fallowfield (a.k.a. Kit)

Kit stops to stare up at her. He's reminded of the last time he saw a statue of Selûne, how cold her face looked to him. It still unnerves him how similar she and Shar are when they're carved like this. Giving a quick scratch to one of the cats, he takes off his silk and rope bracelet and places it under one of the bowls so it won't blow away. Stepping back, Kit rubs the empty place on his wrist. The idea of just thinking toward someone still feels strange, and he instead speaks out loud in Gnomish and hopes that's the same.   "I'm starting to think the way you two handle things is different than most gods. And I know I haven't given anything back." Kitrick runs a hand through his hair. "But Havine said signs matter. I know you can't always talk back but... Can you give me one of those? I can help them if I stay but they'll be safer if I leave and I don't.... I don't know which is better."   He thinks for a moment about the danger coming for Ilweth and adds, "And if you're feeling generous, can you watch her too?"   His eyes stay on her face for several seconds before he shakes his head at the almost childish feeling he gets talking to a stone like this. He turns to the door and does a quick peek inside to see if anyone is in the room.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Kitrick grew up very close to his family, who were very devoted even between those who weren't especially close. Kit had a special bond with his oldest sister Espara, who taught him the value of a good sense of humor.   He was sent to the monastery because of a lack of resources allotted to his family by a power unknown to him as a child. His parents sent him to a far-off monastery to prevent his return if he ran. Out of six siblings, he was only allowed to stay with one, Melifus. She took a sincere interest in the training the monastery provided. Kitrick learned only what he found useful, hiding his intelligence behind a simple, vacant expression learned from his simple but lovable father. He spent the rest of the time irritating the monks by rearranging or destroying religious relics, cutting artful holes into their clothing, and releasing various animals into the living areas. He was never undeniably caught but the monks suspected him.   Melifus was an irritation to Kit, in part because of her lack of humor but mostly because of her disinterest in rejoining their family. Kitrick, forever afraid of being unable to find the resources to take care of himself and whoever his 'people' happen to be at the time, spends his days thieving or tricking for what he needs. He occasionally listens for information regarding the power that limited his family when he was young. Kit has very little problem with death (of himself or others) due to his training with the monastery.
