Principality of Sylerius

The principality of Sylerius was originally an offshoot territory of Stelaria (prior to the latter's evolution into Nathyr). It is in fact, a Principality in name only, and is ruled as, for all intents and purposes, a Kingdom. The reason for this title lies in its history. It was formed in the year 914V, leading into the Feudal Period.   The principality was ruled by Prince Tsutonaki Tsirohiroki, third of his name. The region was gifted by his father, King Hanadari Tsirohiroki of Stelaria, in a bid to divide his Kingdom amongst his sons.   Tsutonaki took to his small region, and, perhaps seeing a challenge, sought to claim more. Refusing to compromise his familial honour warring with his own family, he sought out to take it from his neighbours.
"Scholars argue back and forth on the reasons for the Eledraii Feudal period. It is no secret that the Eledraii, at their cultural peak, were often considered a blood thirsty and greedy nation. While it is widely accepted that it was the young Prince Tsutonaki Tsirohiroki III who began the feuds with neighbouring states, in a bid to increase his own power, what is often argued is the reason for this. One theory suggests his jealousy of his brother's inherited empire was the driving factor, while another is simply that he sought to bring honour to his family by enlarging their own kingdom. However, one conspiracy suggests that the young Prince was but a puppet ruler, and the feuds were but an act to protect Sylerius from any backlash."

Throughout this Feudal Period, The Principality grew exponentially, taking areas from the neighbouring Hyuethena, Ebuch and Skun'Kash, leaving the latter a shadow of its former self. As all wise rulers know: To win a war One must destroy an army, but to win a nation, One must spare its people.   Despite being once a part of Stelaria, Sylerius boasts a wider demographic amongst its people. While the former was largely comprised of Elves, the people of Sylerius are from all manor of creed. This is in a large part, due to its rapid expansion during the Feudal Period of the early 900s.   Today, Sylerius is a hotbed of culture and has driven ahead of much of the rest of the world in terms of cultural acceptance and cohabitation. Though Elves still make up the majority of the ruling classes, the Principality's booming science and engineering focus has allowed for anyone to rise through the class system. A fact which sees many with a talent for creating things travelling to this wondrous and mysterious land.
