Wood Elves

The Wood Elves are an ancient nation originating from the Feywild. They place a high value on the preservation and non-exploitation of nature, and live in harmony with their natural environment. Their settlements are woven from livingwood. This is an ancient art which allows trees to grow into the shape of a desired structure.
Wood Elves are generally in conflict with industrial and colonial nations which seek to exploit nature and expand into their forest homes.
High elves were once wood elves, but have split off from their original ethnicity as they sought after industry, artisanal skills, and aspects of higher civilization (see Kylorian Confederacy). Most half-elves are of high elf descent, but there have been occasions where a wood elf tribe has adopted a human into its society, and that human has taken a wood elf as their partner. This is usually a sad emotional relationship due to the difference in lifespan between wood elves and humans, which often leaves the wood elf partner alone for the majority of their life.
