Kylorian Confederacy

The Kylorian Confederacy controls the region of Kyloria. Kyloria encompasses the region south of the Ryndarien Empire, between the Gilded Run River and the Syadra Desert.   Kyloria is primarily ruled by a council of High Elves and Dwarves, but as its centers of civilization have expanded and diversified since its founding, there are a few humans and half elves in positions of power.

Structure

Kyloria is ruled by a council consisting of the leaders of its consituent regions. It is not a democracy since the leaders of it's constituent nations are (most often) not democratically chosen, but the council abides by a Democratic process for making deciscions.

History

The Kylorian confederacy arose when dwarf artisans began seeking trade with wood elves in modern day Kyloria. Many of the wood elves started to seek a more refined and luxurious style of life, contrasting with the traditional minimalism and nature based life style of the wood elves from the feywild. These elven separatists identified themselvs as High Elves, as they sought to live in a "higher" level of civilization. The natural dexterity, grace and wisdom of the elves lead them to be natural artisans. The Dwarves, most comfortable in their earthen halls of stone, hold a long standing distate for seafaring. The high elves therefore found a valuable alliance with the dwarves as seafaring merchants to sell their artisanal goods to other nations across the ocean.   The Kylorian confederacy spread to modern day Varconia, eventually founding the dwarf society of New Morthalus. There, the dwarves discovered a new alloy, named Kylorian Brass, but the secret of its creation was coveted and lost as the Kylorian colony was invaded by Malberon (for more details on this conflict, see the Silverbeard Relics and The expansion of Malberon).   During the invasion of Malberon, many women of the Kylorian colony fled across the Asmer sea to colonize Kor'Syra while many of the men stayed behind to hold off the invading forces. This led to the formation of a matriarchal colony where women outnumbered the men and naturally held more power. Kyloria then began a long conflict with the indigenous elves of Kor'Syra (at this time referred to by the indigenous endonym Asyra), before finally unionizing into the modern day Kor'Syran diarchy (a rough contraction of the fouding nation's names Kyloria and Asyra). Kor'Syra is now ruled by an elven matriarch from each nation.
