Athenas hawthorn

"Listen to me, you have to play the long game now. Get by his side and stay there until you know you can strike. I'm sorry Minerva, I hope you can forgive me."   Founded on the day of Athena's death. Athena's Hawthorns made an alliance to wait for the opportune time to strike against their opponent. In the modern day only, few remain. And anyone who is suspected of being a part of the secret group is hanged for treason without trial.   Athena (or Pallas Athena to those who knew her) was guardian of the dragon Corinth. Corinth and Emelth both have two guardians a male and female, one to handle disputes and avoid war. One for when a fight is inevitable between the two. Athena is the diplomat of Corinth, and her and Freya often find themselves preventing wars between nations as well as between their respective dragons.    Guardians do not live forever, and their cycles are called eras with each dragon getting a new guardian so the old can finally pass on.    Minerva Dupree was picked by Corinth to be the guardian reborn, but Athena was killed before she had trained Minerva fully.    That death allowed for tyranny to take hold in one of the most influential cities of Terrath and spread like mold in a barrel of fruit.    And so Minerva Dupree created Athena's Hawthorns, a rebel network that spread throughout the kingdoms and weakened Callistus hold on the world.
