Knights of Saint Calivan

Founded to care for sick pilgrims in The Levant, the Hospitallers quickly evolved into a protective fighting force. Like their brothers among the Knights of Saint Mikael and Order of Solomon's Temple, a Hospitaller is both a monk and warrior following a strict Rule that requires both chivalry and strict adherence to the teachings of the Holy Church. Hospitallers strive to uphold the demands of the Rule by living honorably, striking down evil, and seeking to further the interests of the Holy Church and its followers, whether as individuals or as part of an organized crusade. Staying true to their original mission, Hospitallers are expert healers and while they refuse to use edged weapons, they remain capable and effective warriors.
The Hospitallers maintain a presence in the Kingdom of Antioch and the islands of the eastern Mediterranean with their headquarters is on the island of Rhodes. They also have "houses," a combination of fortress and monastery, scattered across western Europa. Each Hospitaller belongs to a particular house and while they are normally free to come and go as they choose, they remain at the service of the order.
