Imperial Triplet

An Imperial Triplet is one person of the three people who make up the Imperial Trinity.

Requirements

An Imperial Triplet must be an Imperial citizen, and must have the right to rule. An Imperial citizen gains the right to rule at the age of 20.

Appointment

The Imperial Trinity is elected in a vote called an Imperial Vote. An Imperial Vote occurs every nine years, but can also occur earlier if one or more Imperial Triplets become unable to rule. An Imperial Vote is a voting system where all citizens of the Empire must vote for their three preferred Imperial Triplets. If a citizen of the Empire does not vote, they must pay a fine of 150 pex. Each voter selects three citizens, which can be any three citizens of the Empire. They write those three names down in a letter addressed to the Electoral Counting Commission, then all votes are collected and delivered by a single, heavily-guarded convoy. When the votes are being counted by the ECC, a citizen receives three points for each vote in their favour. After counting is finished, the three citizens with the greatest number of points are elected as the Imperial Triplets who form the Imperial Trinity.

Duties

It is expected that an Imperial Triplet works to understand the needs and desires of their subjects so that they may fulfil them.

Responsibilities

An Imperial Triplet must sit with their fellow Emperors throughout the day, receiving requests for legal and financial action. They must all vote on whether or not they will accept a request, and an Emperor is not allowed to abstain from this vote. Attempting to abstain from such a vote will result in the offending Emperor's immediate loss of their right to rule.

Benefits

All taxes and fines are paid to the Imperial Trinity and kept in the treasury. An Imperial Triplet may spend pex from the treasury, but cannot spend more than 2700 pex every year on personal expenditures. If an Emperor over-spends, they go into debt with the treasury. If an Emperor reaches a point where they owe the treasury 3000 pex or more, they lose the right to rule.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

If more than two thirds of all Mayoral Triplets sign and deliver a Letter of Request for New Leadership to the ECC, then the ECC must initiate an Imperial Vote immediately. Any citizen, including an Emperor or a Mayor, who attempts to prevent this legal process in any way is guilty of treason against the Empire of the Trinity, immediately loses their right to citizenship, right to govern, and right to rule, and they are considered enemies of the Empire.

Length of Term

An Imperial Triplet must remain in power for at least nine years, barring any unforeseen circumstances that prevent them from governing, and lose their right to rule after having been in power for a total of nine years.
