The Glorious Empire of Arkania

Not a great deal is known of the Glorious Empire of Arkania, situated far to the north of the Sea of Souls, across the uncharted plains and deserts. Merchants from the Empire arrive sporadically with spices and rare materials, but are always covered entirely, letting no hint of their identities be revealed to outsiders. Caravans that have made it to the borders of the Empire have discovered that they are not allowed to pass the outlying trading posts, which are enclosed by thick walls. Those that have attempted to bypass these official sanctuaries and penetrate deeper into the Empire have never been seen again.
