Highplain is a province of forests and lonely villagers. The tall mountains to the south do little to protect them from the weather, leading to much of the province being wet and cold. However, there are a number of industries that thrive in the various areas of the province.
One of the most well-known aspects of Highplain are the culinary creations. It is the only place in Sutheria to have access to the screaming mussels, so named for the high-pitched shriek that emits from them when placed in boiling water. These, and the wide variety of mushroom found in the forests around Waterwood have made food from Highplain chefs much prized by gourmets.
