    Formation of Pankake Islands
    Geological / environmental event

    A now extinct Hot spot erupted in the North Sea, which led to the formation of the Pankake Islands. First to breach the surface was East Maple, then West Flapjack, and finally Butter Island.

    The Niadlic people are a variety of Greek nymphs, and emigrated from their native Greece at the start of the Ancient Greek age.

    Humans arrive on the Islands
    Founding

    Pre-Viking voyagers shake the Niadla' world , pushing them into the remote southern forest of West Flapjack. They used to hold both Flapjack and Butter. The Norse establish a small fishing town on flapjack- the future Pankake city. They also farm on Butter island.

    More humans arrive and populate Islands
    Population Migration / Travel

    An influx of Anglo-Saxons invade the islands, and the population of the islands quadruples (at least) . The Niadla, now terrified of humans and numbering only about 1000, are driven into exile inside the cave of Najwist Eldiz. The town of Pankake becomes Pankake city.

    The Pankake islands become their own country
    Revolution

    A revolution in the islands lead to the end of English rule. An oligarchy is set up but is quickly corrupted and turns into a monarchy. The Dutch also start to settle in the islands around this time.

    The Pankake islands become a democracy
    Political event

    The monarchy is overthrown and replaced with a parliamentary democracy. It lasts for several hundred years.

    Disaster / Destruction

    The prime minister of the Pankake islands unexpectedly seizes power, thrusting the country into a tyrannical dictatorship spanning 34 years

  • 2022
    The Pankake islands become a democracy- again
    Revolution

    A revolution, led by Ophelia Riverstone, restores the parliamentary democracy. The country now much resembles the Netherlands with its political system. Riverstone, who knows the existence of the Niadla, sets aside the forests of Flapjack and Maple island as National Parks. The forests belong to the Niadla again.
