Following The Expulsion, The Hexalian Order was formed and The Six branded Charalyn's teaching as partial truths. Twisting her message that magic was innate in everyone, they claimed it was their gift, using the Order to spread the message among the populace.
Even as the Augur's Arch outside the Eternal's Resplendence temple in Eleth Lilanor was smashed, even as Charalyn's temple was burned and the surrounding sector of the Sprawl went permanently dark, some of Charalyn's clerics remained faithful and managed to elude the Order.
Existing in the shadows, Charalyn's faithful call themselves the Veiled Embers. Formed in the Sprawl from the ashes of her temple, they believe she still exists in secret, waiting until enough of the populace has lost faith in the Six and accepted her message. Empowered by this de facto belief as the Six's power wanes, she'll overthrow them and knowledge will reign on Temshai. Their goals are twofold: to subtly counter the Order's message and to convince the populace that, as Charalyn said, magic really is innate within everyone and everything.
