She joined Rising Tide after her pack, the Avens Pack, located in W. Virginia, died or had to be killed off during the RECON-12 plague. (Interesting side-note. I don't think lycanthropes rise as zombies). She took the place of a previous Rising Tide agent who was backing up MyJustice (Myala Harrison Foster-Wayne) when Rising Tide lost contact with the previous agent, and was assigned back to her home in WV, where she was discovered when MacAnder joined an investigative team, looking for 'alien or other lifeform' artifacts to take back to his facility.

Rising Tide has been "communication dark" for six years, with no sign that any of the reports from Damaris or Myala have been getting through to anyone in the cells that they were connected to.
Damaris knows what she is. She was raised in an isolated community of lycanthropes in W. Virginia, and was fully trained in her abilities and powers. Except that she has never known an Iota werewolf. She knows -of- them. They're a myth. They're also supposed to be weak and not worth all that much, as far as the pack is concerned, but they ARE, in her rather radical bitch feminist opinion, a good reason to cut the balls off of any male Omega wolf. Just sayin'.

Personal history

CORVID-12 decimated Damaris' pack. Damaris left, and ended up joining Rising Tide.
MacAnder sent his troops up there to see what was left. When he discovered that she was all that was left, and she appeared meek, mild, lost, hopeless, he declared her Alpha.
He put her in a training center to try to help control his creations.
