Knights Guard

The knights guard is a collection of knights that, if called to duty will report to Cheeseburg to protect the upper-hierophant. Each province in Artemisia has its own knight as each one is the viscount or baron of that province, heroes of the state can also be knighted, the same rules apply to them. Nowadays the knights guard doesn't really exist though, a specialist division of shock soldiers does exist just in case. Recently Nomad was actually knighted by serene prince Artemis the second. The commander of the guard is the current upper-hierophant, who is also a knight himself.

Composition

Manpower

The knights guard does not have a lot of manpower though, the experience of the knights makes up for this by far. The modern knights guards has much more manpower, standing at around 7000 men for the main division and 2000 men for the support and supply chains.

Equipment

The main division of the knights guard uses light armor and nightvision, the supply corps uses regular armor and carries medical supplies. The reason for the main division using light armor is for the sake of better mobility.

Weaponry

The battalion mainly uses assault rifles and grenade launchers, there is also a support company who uses heavy artillery and machine guns. The battalion also has a small air support squadron consisting mainly of A-12 warswines, they also use helicopters commonly for easy transport.

Vehicles

The battalion uses around 500 armored-fighting-vehicles or AFVs, and 200 APCs. The guard also has a lot of airpower at their disposal, having 100 ground-attack planes, 50 attack-helicopters and 3 bombardment-aircraft.

Structure

The battalion has four units, alpha, beta, charlie and delta. the first three units are the main combat units, the fourth is the support unit. The battalion has sometimes worked with fabiens guard's red shields on important protection missions.

Tactics

The battalion generally operates within urban environments to protect the various people of interest on the continent. Which is why the green shields of the fabien guard sometimes perform operations together. The battalion generally uses blitzkrieg-like tactics, but with more focus on hit-and-run tactics.

Training

The training that the knights guard go through is very hard, to insure victory. The training is ment to be mainly mobility focused like running while shooting. All soldiers must know how to operate vehicles and radios, and of course, weapons. It is required that all members of the knights guard must be able to hit a target at a hundred meters 9/10 of the time

Logistics

Logistical Support

The delta unit of the battalion is responsible for support and transport for the rest of the units, the delta unit also has access to airdrops of supplies.

Auxilia

The battalion has access to airstrikes, artillery, rocket bombardment and intermediate range ballistic missiles. though the latter is only available to the commander of the battalion.

Upkeep

The knights guard is very expensive mostly because of the quality of the equipment and training. though, the battalion is very much worth it, both because of ceremonial purposes and guarding the ruler of Artemisia.

History

The knights guards was deployed at the second battle of Bryansk to aid Nomadia survive against the barbanian hordes, the guard was also present at the siege of Stockholm. In more modern examples, the battalion helped against the fedrian invaders and swedish aggressors. The knights guard has always had a ceremonial purpose, swearing their loyalty to the current ruler.
