Whistbrook Manor

A wonderwork of magic incantations. This manor was the former headquarters to a certain group of mages keen on secluding themselves and maintaining privacy. This is the reason why this building is equipped with advanced means of concealing itself from the various threats a caster these days has to face.   This mansion, first and foremost lies in a dangerous area of a forest filled to the brim with wild and savage beasts, these howver are delat with in two ways. Firstly there is a massive illusionary dome covering the entire building making it almost impossible to spot amongst the dense woods. The second line of security are six stonegolems, wich are well equipped to ward off unwanted intruders.   From the outer liens of the dome are various gardens, training grounds and the main entrance of the manor itself. Before entering though, one will pass a beautiful fountain decorated with a massive bronze statue of a warrior.   The mansion itself contains everything a mage could want, from libraries over alchemic ingredients to dungeons beneath the basement area of the manor. The inside of the manor is also tended to by a dozen wood golems, wich are weak combatants, but tireless workers, useful to do everything not related with fire.

Purpose / Function

Whistbrook manor has been constructed to lend the most adequate housing for a group fo secluded casters. Deep within the woods, chances of unwanted travelers were slim and in combination with magical illusions and the golem guards disturbances were something most rare.   The manor also provides multiple safe locations to test various spells as well as housing and a limited supply of food and ingredients.

Design

The rooms of Whistbrook Manor are beauiful rooms with enchanted chandeliers and braziers. While the wood seems to be a bit darker, the light grey slabs of stone skillfully attached to the walls in cobination with metal ornaments and stained glass windows give a certain feel of eccentricity and magic.

Entries

Whiler there seem to be multiple entries and exits into the manor, most are more stable than they make out to be. For example the stained glass windows are controlled by the main control of the manor and have been lightly enchanted to be as hard as a plate of solid iron. The only real exits are various doors, wich lead outwards oto eithe rbalconies, gardens, or other rooms. The doors themsels are made o fthe dark wood prevelant in the manor, wile also having black metal ornaments and bearings.

Sensory & Appearance

Main building:   The manor is immaculaly lit with enchanted chandeliers and braziers, everburning candles, while not cheap, are a rather common occurance in this mansion. While the walls are themselves made out of darkened wood, wich still has its own smell sof resin and wood itself, the walls are also adorned with light grey stone plates, wich definitly are a nice contrast to the darkened wood behind them. The extravagant stained glass windows also summon forth and entrancing pattern of light, wich seem to shift continously. The floor is built very stable and not a single creak is to be heard. Footsteps are dampened by the red carpet, wich is adored with an immaculate pattern covering its whole surface.   The atmosphere is pleasant, and while most rooms in this manor are cool, or even cold, the living quarters are pleasantly warm.

Denizens

The staff of Whistrook manor is only comprised of golems of various sorts. Mandatory tasks, like small repairs, cleaning and washing are done by the dozen woodgolems scattered around the manor, while heavy duty labour is left to the strong and massive stone golems, wich are still able to manouver around in the house.

Alterations

While most of the manor has been held immaculately clean, about half of the dungeons are filled with items aquired from traveling traders and the like, wich didn't seem to be useful.
