Bone-elves

four eared savages

As the only elven subrace more infamous than their dark-elven cousins in terms of being the fabric of nightmares, the bone-elves are told to be the most feral and dangerous kind of elvish wrath someone could imagine and though it seems unlikely the nightmarish tales are very close to the source material one should still be wary of the possible danger of starting a violent conflict with them. Wandering dark forgotten forests, filled with hungry beasts and terribly monsters, the bone-elves are the top of the food chain. Known to practice cannibalism, childmurder and other forms of barbaric behavior, one should not mistake them for simple brutes, as they are apex predators and their feral nature is something truly to behold.

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Elven children are usually named after the person witnessing the birth of the child. But as it is fairly common for elven children to be twins the first child will recieve another prefix than the second to distiguish them from another. After that there is always the family name.   Prefix for first born: Sar-, Rus-, Ter-, Lar-, Sor- Prefix for second twin: Vus-, Tra-, Kra-, Arra-, Sark-, Juro-, Drach- There are no more Prefixes when there are triples, quadruples etc. The following children will recieve prefixes for the second child. Common Middlenames: Fesa, Suros, Adres, Praz, Curz, Kora, Karane, Uurol

Courtship Ideals

The mating ritual of bone elves is not less savage, than their hole lives already and so upon trying to seduce a female, or a male, a quite violent act of some kind of dance is enacted. To be honest is it a bloody and quite gruesome fight, but as long as the fight is good the bond is sealed. It is also to note, that the outcome determines the dominance of the partner.

Relationship Ideals

When the mating is concluded, relationships between bone elves are surprisingly calm and even beautiful to watch, wasn't there the odd fight here and there. What is also to note is that bone elves like to have multiple spouses. These harems as one could call them are all centered around the dominant partner as they will be free to engage the mating ritual once again if so desired. Should a ominant individual loose to another the once dominant memeber becomes submissive too and the former couple joins the rank of their new alpha.

Average Technological Level

Bone elves are far behind their cousins and their biggest technological advancement is the art of stoking flames and skinning animals.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals

Cannibalism:   There are many ways of wich someone can end up being devoured by an elf, some of them being, having stolen from dais elf, haing challenged the current alpha and died in combat, died of old age (very rare), or dying of any other cause. The act of cannibalism is more a means of resourcefulness as to assert dominance, in specific cases. Depending the cause being eaten cann be pretty honorable too.

History

It is said, that the bone elves formed from the children of dark elves and wood elves, as the children born from those unions are unwanted and either killed or expelled. Mixed with the biggest sociopaths, murderers and thieves this was the foundation of bone elven society.
