World Primer (Start Here!)

Teldir is a world of epic scale where humanity lives among the creatures of legends: dragons, giants, angels, and demons among others. After an event known as the Emergence, beings from other planes known as the titan folk entered and began to settle on Teldir, dominating the land and forming various relationships with the small folk, the humanoid peoples of the land.

Regions

Kysnscore: Kysnscore is a hotspot of political intrigue in Teldir. Lodged the mountainous land of the dragons, it is one of the most diverse regions of small folk on Teldir. Dragons and the humanoid peoples formed a council to lead their people to remain strong against potential invasions from the neighboring nations, or simply for profit. Many notable factions of small folk sprung up in Kysnscore and its capital city, Redfell, and their influence has spread far across the entirety of Teldir. The countryside to the south and east of Teldir is controlled largely by the Tyrants of the Hills, who remain in power despite the efforts of Kysnscore's Delegation.

Kjull: Kjull is the home of the giants, the only other region with titan folk native to Teldir. The small folk of Kjull have a rather strained relationship with the giants, but the tension is on the verge of snapping. During the War of Emergence, the small folk moved to hide in the walls of the giant's capital city for protection. Many of the remaining giants did not appreciate the infestation that moved into their home, but others saw some use in them. Some of the small folk attempted to plead for mercy and offer services, others fought back, and many simply hid.

Sathinn The city of Sathinn was created by devils, who through numerous contracts and deals, built a large population of contractually bound citizens and other willing servants. The Southern District, which now surrounds the Northern District entirely, is a lawless, ruthless place where gangs of devil-bound people fight for dominance. On the other hand, the city's Northern District is an oddity. Walled up and sealed with no gates or forms of entry, looks beautiful and serene from the outside, its citizens who leave oath-bound to never speak of what lies inside.

Dur'tikan: Demons followed the devils into Teldir shortly after their arrival, and soon became bent on exploring the entirety of Teldir. Though they initially began by killing everything in their path, many of the small folk proved to be rather strong defenders of their homes. The craftier demons began to see use in them, and began to offer protection and glory to those who would join their ranks. Much to the surprise of the rest of the world, the demons built a staunch and loyal regime with the small folk, although their presence and aggression is worrying to neighboring countries.

Ultanis: When the angels followed their enemies of the lower planes on Teldir, they erected their own country in a region now known as the Celestial Fields, with the sole purpose of combatting these evils. Many have flocked to the Fields in search of haven, and many more have joined the order of Justiciars, a group of small folk who protect the city while their angelic patrons fight the demons, devils, and other evils plaguing Teldir. Their is a darker side to the land, though, as any being of demonic or devilish heritage, or generally evil in nature, is sent to a prison city known as the Fallen Kingdom.

The Revelwoods: The Revelwoods are the forests in the center of Teldir, inhabited by the fey. After much of its forests were razed by the demons of Dur'tikan, magical wards were set up by a mysterious archfey, known only as The Reveler, who oversees the woods. Anyone not deemed fit to enter will be subtly turned around by the wards protecting the region. Inside the woods, there is very little law, except for impromptu rules set up and taken down by the Reveler whenever the need arises. Debauchery and merrymaking are prevalent in these woods, as they seem to be in a state of constant revelry.

The Free Nations: The Free Nations is one of the youngest of countries in Teldir, formed in the island archipelago south of Teldir by an idealistic group of halflings and half-elves. It was created as a home for the small folk and those seeking a different life. Many small folk flocked to the lands after they caught wind of its existence, and even a few titan folk came as well. Unfortunately, the area has attracted a large swath of pirates as well, who are forming a sort of "kingdom" to consolidate their own power.

Tabletop Notes

Teldir is a fantasy world I am developing for use in potential future tabletop campaigns. It was made for use in the Dungeons and Dragons 5e ruleset, although it could quickly be modified for 3.5, Pathfinder, etc.

There is room for all PHB races, and most official supplemental races will be provided at least a spot to exist. I plan on making homebrew subclasses/races if I find a good spot to put one.

Lore-wise, note that everything not explicitly mentioned in this world codex functions similarly to the Forgotten Realms world.
