Myrthalaa

Myrthala is the northernmost continent of Telandor. It is land of deep forests and towering mountains. Home to many a small kingdom, this feudal society is deep in conflict. Warring lords conquer their neighbors, and small squabbles turn into generational blood feuds.

Lay of the land

The North

The northern half of Myrthalaa is above the arctic circle, and as such it is a cold land. Rolling hills and deep pine forests, topped with mountains where the snow never melts. The landscape is dotted with many small lakes, and underground caverns run through the hills connecting and sometimes causing landslides.

The South

The southern areas, though warmer, are still distinctly boreal. Here, the tundras of the north, become open grasslands and the forests take on a lusher, and warmer tone. The snow capped mountains become fewer, and the lakes warmer.

Climate

The Etherstorms in Myrthala often take the form of lightning and heavy downpour in the southern regions, while up north they often take the form of blizzards.
