Since the technological singularity, the world has changed. Scarcity has ended, disease is no more, and even death has become a rarity. We have colonized countless worlds, blurred the boundaries between the digital and physical, and attained technology beyond human comprehension.   This is all because of the DEUS, a vast superintelligence integrated into every device, every living creature, and every mind. It provides for us, rules us, and connects us all.   For some the DEUS is a god to be worshipped, for others an oppressor to be feared, but for a very few it is something more: a source of power to be researched and harnessed. These few call themselves NINjas. Spoken of in rumors and whispers, they are hackers and scientists, warriors and spies; and they will take on any mission in exchange for new technology, knowledge, and power.   Though the worlds of the DEUS may seem at peace, conflict still lurks in the shadows—as do the NINjas.
