Higher calling

People who are under the affect of the higher calling as they call it initially have trouble sleeping and develops the habit of talking seemingly gibberish in their sleep. They also gain blue specks in their eyes though this is hard to notice. After a week or two of this the victim will start to have changes in their personality acting haughty and seeing others as lesser then themselves or others under this condition. The victims personality will continue to get worse and they start to gain memories which are not their own of ancient glory and conquest. Around this time the skin of the infected start to gain a blue tint and they become physically stronger then before. This is the final stage before the Higher calling becomes irreversible after this the victims skin will become a much darker shade of blue and they learn how to do a ritual to allow willing subjects to get the Higher calling. This is not the main way of this condition spreading however and it is unclear how most of the victims got it. It is possible for strong willed individuals to suppress the symptoms of the higher calling for a little while but eventually their symptoms will overtake them. Originally there was no cure for the higher calling but through examining some of the writings of the last stage infected it was discovered that they serve a being called Metagil. When a being says that they renounce Metagil and choose to burn with the world (it is not known weather this exact wording is required but to prevent other affects no further phrases have been tried) if they were under the condition of the Higher calling their symptoms go away though their is usually reports of feeling depressed and weak for some time after this how bad these affects are depends in how far along the symptoms went. When a non infected says the phrase they seem to become incapable of catching the Higher calling. This knowledge has been spread to all the healers and they often make new people say the phrase whenever possible.
