The gehm become connected to era in a way unique to them, allowing them to affect the world in ways they never had before.
Unlocking the Power of Era
Until this point, the gehm had been disconnected from era -- the energy of the world -- making them the only beasts incapable of using it. However, due to unusual circumstances and a twist of fate, a single gehm had formed a connection with era; unconventional as it was. Over time, the gehm came to understand and even control this power, eventually learning how to share it with others of his kind.
The Apostle and the Gathering of Gehm
One gehm in particular, after becoming connected with era, decided to travel the world in search of other gehm seeking freedom and the power to protect themselves in a world that has always been harsh to them. This gehm became known as the Apostle.
The Effects of Ascension
The previously weak and disorganized gehm gaining power and gathering into larger groups became seen by some beasts and titans as the threat of a new age approaching. Conflict between the gehm and those who worried about their sudden rise began to develop, eventually culminating in an all-out war between the gehm and titans.
