Hadrius
High-King Hadrius Engelmald (a.k.a. The Conqueror)
"We have come here out of necessity. Your empire may throw us back to the sea or you will burn, the outcome is same either way. We will eventually conquer this place, leaving your memory to the dust of the past. You can remain in your caves and mine, deeper and deeper. But above your dark and tiny tomb,
The world will belong to us." - Hadrius the Conqueror, to the Dwarves when they demanded his immediate surrender, 23 AHL

Personal history
Born to farmers during the time of yearning (the years after humans landed in Navifor) to peasant parents and starvation. He joined the military at an extremely young age, becoming skilled in the spear and sword and rising quickly through the ranks. At this time the humans were seen as a pest by the elves and dwarves, who sent restrained forces to harass the settlers.
In 21 AHL the elves finally took action, sending a full army to burn the First City to the ground. Through this strife emerged Hadrius, arguably the most formidable single opponent in the settler army. After ferocious fighting on the streets Hadrius and his men were eventually pushed back to the temple, where they began to say their last prayers to Pelor. Hadrius burnt offerings and the shrine remained still. Hadrius offered his life for those of his men and was met with a deathly silence. Then Hadrius spoke an oath which which change the fate of Navifor forever. He stood in the grand hearth, the flames biting against his flesh, searing his form as he screamed. Hadrius showed remarkable constitution and quietened himself. He spoke, offering Pelor the one thing Hadrius knew he wanted. The world. He swore to bring death upon those who venerate evil. He whispered that he would not just tilt the scales for Good, who would remove the evil from the metaphor.
The flames snuffed, Hadrius' skin healed, and his men bowed to the chosen of Pelor, who's might will know no bounds until the worlds ending. Leaving the temple, Hadrius throw forward his hand in front of the confused invaders, and the air snapped with cold as a colossal great sword appeared there. Such wanton death was dealt at the hands of the new champion of light, for these armies were nothing to the titanic power that had been given to men.
The Settlers of men rallied to their knew leader, who they crowned High-King, a title never again bestowed. With a newly raised force behind him, Hadrius took the fight to the denizens of Navifor. Wearing Shardplate and wielding the only Shardblade in the old world, Hadrius snapped the back of the Dwarves, and carved an empire out of the elves.
In 29 AHL it is written that Hadrius fell into a trap or ambush of some kind in an unknown location. It is unknown who masterminded this, but him and his personal guard (the men who had been with him at the Temple of the First City) were assailed by multiple Shardbearers. As his men fell into soulless husks around him, born from the pale copies of his own great weapon, something in Hadrius broke. He dispatched the attackers, the only survivor.
His body ruined, Hadrius knew that if anyone could wield the greatest weapon of them all, they would surely rule the world, as he was on set to. He cast the Sword into the ether, its cold paling in the sunlight one last time. Hadrius knelled in front of his lord one last time, and passed from this world.
His Shardplate was found empty 3 years later, the account of his ambush and final moments being from a hermit who had witnessed him slump on the grassy plains (who was confused at seeing it empty).
