The Oath of the Fianna
Upon joining the Fianna, all new recruits are required to take an oath before the gods, calling back to the oath Fionn took before taking his charge.
Execution
On their knees, the recruits lie their weapons on the ground before the shrines and hold their arms outstretched before reciting the oath.
"I am here before the gods.
On my knees, arms outstretched.
Hear my plea. I humbly make my vow.
I shall forsake any claim to lands. I shall forsake any Birthright.
Never shall I marry. Never shall I abandon my duty.
My home is all of Gaelynn. My family is all of Gaelynn.
I shall defend my home from those who will destroy it.
I shall defend my family from any who would do it harm.
The plague of undeath. The curse of lycanthropy.
The scourge of that which can not be understood.
The Monsters of the world and the worlds beyond.
Grant me strength to protect family and home,
Grant me resolve to stand steadfast in the face of the enemy,
Grant me ambition to be unwavering in this purpose,
Grant me conviction to stay on the road carved by the Unarmored Swordsman.
By your will. By my will. By the will of Gaelynn.
By land, sea, and sky,
By sun, moon, and star,
So mote it be."
