The Cyberneticist Guild is the organization that originally created cybernetics. The core secret of cybernetics, the ability to graft metal to flesh, is closely guarded by the guild. Once the initial procedure to surgically add the cybernetic interface has been done limbs are relatively easily replaced by someone with training. A black market of cybernetic replacement parts exists, and the further away from the Dwarf Empire you go the more prevalent they become.
