Union of Kathrenax

A federation and a state bordering both Kenirr and Firenje with Kenirr to its east and Firenje west. It consists of almost entirely Drash’en/Dragonborn and with 70% of its landscape being hill or mountain. The Union was established as a way for the small collections of dragonborn societies to accept their unified heritage as one less common species, as well as accept the truth that they do not have the power they claim to have once had. The federation is thus commonly known by the name of the supposed dead god of the dragonborn, Kathrenax. The state is small but easily defended and rich in arcane knowledge and finer masonry. It is on a relatively bad side to Komendar due to differences and borders but the state is generally very inwards thinking with no hegemonic or expansionist tendencies or desires. Kathrenax has recently become a subject of interest among different scholars because of the battle at Klemrakol.

Culture

Caste Being primarily a Drash’en nation it follows the ancient caste system that have existed among the Drash’en since founding these castes are a cultural division with four castes which I will mention in de facto ranking: Farmers, Herders, Artists and Rulers. These castes are both literal but also diverse and fulfill more roles than they say, all Drash’en can be warriors but Artists tend to be those most militaristic however they view martial expertise as an art form, a fisher is usually a farmer and a hunter usually a herder so on. The reason for this ranking is the farmers are the providers of sustenance to the Drash’en they maintain their life and while that is important it is little in the grand picture, the Herders are those who feed the Dragons which was always the Drash’en primary purpose, Drash’en historically have not consumed meat as a result seeing the slaughter of animals to only be for the avatars of their gods the dragons but during the millennia when the dragons were gone they would occasionally do it, but only in religious situations now as dragons have returned some still maintain the old traditions while some do eat meat but still as a religious event, Drash’en still consume fish and milk as normal. Artists are next whose work is commemorated as while food maintains life it is not a living, traditionally artists would try to perform and please their dragon masters, they were painters, dancers, musicians and other forms of entertainers. However they have over time become more varied, a large number of artists have become martial and as such this is the caste mostly found outside Xerkaan as they pursue beauty and hone their skills either in the new martial sense or old cultural sense. Rulers are the highest up, priests and local leaders they are the once to create stability among their fellow folks, traditionally it was seen that the rulers were chosen by the dragons and as of such their positions were ordained by the avatar of their gods however in time it has like all castes become hereditary.   Calendar The Drash'en follow the same calendar as humans supposed to be made by the Drash'en themselves, however for Drash'en each month represents something deeper than just a month but a command of how one should act and behave these are:   Black: Death. (Sacrifice an animal for death is natural.)
Red: Passion, romantic (Celebrate the beauty of the natural world find the passion and the flame in your life, burn with passion.)
Green: Corruption, Decay (Offer crops to rot, for all things must decay.)
White: Winter, cold, cunning, sorrow (A sorrow month for Kathrenax)
Blue: Wrath, Anger (Show your anger and wrath to the injustice of the world, yourself and your family)
Copper: Joy (Celebrate the joy of life and the small things around you)
Brass: Love, Trust (Trust your common men and offer your home to travelers) Bronze: Fights, glory (Fight someone with honor and respect, preferably without casualty)
Silver: Humility (Accept with humility that there are those superior to you)
Gold: Pride (Celebrate your pride as a dragonborn)
