Elf

Elves are a minoritary race all over Talica known for believing themselves to be superior to everyone. Born mages, their relationship has never been too friendly with humans. Or orcs. Or other elves. Up until Havenfell became... well... Havenfell, elves were as capable as any other race to wage wars and do horrible acts, but now they are as homeless as they are numberless, and many folks spend their entire lives without seeing one.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Elves are often tall, unmuscular and with ears so long they reach higher than the top of their heads. Their nails are longer than other races', and their skin is ivory-colored.

Genetics and Reproduction

They might not find it much fun, but elves reproduce same as you (probably) and me.

Growth Rate & Stages

Elves take around 30 years to reach full adulthood (size-wise). We figure that, given their height, it takes them more years to reach it. Their limbs become exceedingly long over those years, as they cease being stubby and clumsy children and turn into the smug, slithery bastards everyone expects them to be.

Ecology and Habitats

These days, elves can be found anywhere, although in the days of old they were mainly from western lands.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Elves have a disturbingly lack of a need to eat regularly. They can spend up to 3 days without going hungry, and when they do it, they choose to do so minimally. It's preposterous! No wonder they are skinny.

Biological Cycle

Elves don't ever physically age. They become weaker, but their looks remain the same until they die. If you don't know an elven acquaintance of yours too well, they might very well die tomorrow with no previous hints. They are truly a race all about looking better than you really are.

Facial characteristics

Sharp features, from chin to ears, and round eyes that are either wholly green or wholly blue.

Average Intelligence

While many elves can sound condescending, mankind has long ago figured out that a condescending tone does not make a smarter mind. They can be about as dumb as an orc, or as smart as... well... any other race. It's a gamble, really.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Impeccable sight allows elves to be nasty archers when given a chance. Every elf is believed to hold some arcane power within, even if many wisely choose to stay as far away from magic as they can.

Major Organizations

While not an elven organization, the Keltirak Institute holds the most elves out of any organization.

Beauty Ideals

Elves like thin features both in faces and bodies. Pointy noses, sharp skulls and flat chests are all the rage to an elf. These standards do not work on humans.

Average Technological Level

Elves have made most arcane developments in their former citadel, uncovering each school of magic including Omnimancy. Their warfare also brought about the creation and development of archery and its associated, non-automatic weapons.

Major Language Groups and Dialects

No elven language lives nowadays, all lost to the Arcanicide. Only the Imperial Tongue remains.

History

Elves had been waging wars in Talica long before humans had the misfortune of existing there too. Hating orcs as much as humans, they had the land divided in two before the third race got involved in their war. When orcs shifted their hatred towards humans, elves had a chance to prosper and develop their arcane skills like never before.
The Great Arcanicide that destroyed Havenfell ended elven prosperity, and sent their race into a downwards spiral of nomadism and an uncomfortable closeness to extinction, one they are still struggling with today.

Lifespan

300-400 years? The fact that their looks stay the same really don't help us find an accurate number.

Conservation Status

Due to the asexual nature of elves, their people are struggling to rebuild the numbers they lost with Havenfell. Nobody knows if they are... hem hem... doing anything about it.

Average Height

2 meters minimum. Can reach 3 in rare cases.

50-60 kg

Average Physique

Elves are extremely flexible, but lack muscular power in comparison even to humans. Their speed and accuracy saves them in battle far more often than strength or sturdiness.
