Battle of Aludel

Ogral, an unusually intelligent Ogre leads his armies against an alliance of men and elves to ultimately be defeated by the first Celestial Champion, Aludela Astere.

During the final fight, seeing that his side was losing, Ogral charged Aludela from behind and slew her with a single blow. Accounts from survivors say that the battle ceased in a wide circle around Ogral as he lifted the broken body of Aludela Astare over his head. Then, a beam of blinding light struck Ogral and he fell to the ground. Aludela Astare was held aloft however and her body shone beneath her armor. When she returned to the earth she was alive, and a river of light was emblazoned on her breastplate, and a glowing crown rested on her head. She charged the enemy with a greatsword made of light, and drove their army back beyond the mountains. Ogral escaped the slaughter and no tales of him exist dating after the battle.       While the armies of Aludela watched the enemy flee beyond the mountains, Aludela Astere collapsed to the ground. The light left her, and her remains were transported to a cairn high in the mountains, in a temple dedicated to Tova. The lands east of the mountains were renamed Aludel in honour of the fallen hero, and the races came together in confederacy, writing a constitution to secure that the humanoid factions of Aludel would never again go to war with one another.
