Thuldor is Assassinated

Thuldor is slain by assassins. The Confederacy denies any involvement. Thuldor’s son, Thalnir, succeeds his father and continues the war with a passion fueled by vengeance.

Thalnir starts taking unnecessary risks, and though he wins many victories for the Separatists, the loss of life is staggering and soon his own people are clamoring for peace.   A year after his fathers death Thalnir signs a treaty with the Confederacy and ends the war in order to appease his people who are on the edge of rebellion. Even once peace has been established the elves decide to leave their magic on Wildrun as a sign that they are choosing to be impartial to the events outside their forest.
