The Gate

Summary

Somewhere out in the ocean, far from any land, there is an island. On that island there is a massive gateway, it is said that it can take anyone anywhere they wish, even to other planes of existence.

Historical Basis

Many ships that go on exploratory missions never come back, one of the times they came back one sailor was quite delirious, and said that he visited another realm. Much of what he said cannot be confirmed.

This legend is known all around Taarö, though it is well known in coastal towns.

Variations & Mutation

Some say that the island was built by creatures from another plane, while others attribute it to the Gods or Titans. Another variation is that some people believe that there was a great civilization and that that was their capital.
