In a forgotten corner of the galaxy, a lone soldier in slate-blue armor treks tirelessly through a hostile jungle back to his ship. In one hand is clutched a tablet carrying data on how much of a threat the local alien population is to Passe-Rath, and in the other, a heavy semi-automatic rifle. His eyes dart around the foliage, looking for threats. He's still a mile away from safety on the ship, but he's determined to make it.
A trio of figures in dark tactical gear and full helmets rappel down the outside of a skyscraper in the dead of night. They slip in listening devices through windows that residents forgot to close that evening, intent to discover the potential threat to the city's God-program.
Four people -- two in heavy armor, two in the light armor of psionic soldiers -- run through an Akrexian compound on a distant planet. They burst into the inner hold, and find a squad of heavily armed Akrexians ready for them. Gunfire and telekinetically controlled debris fly around the room as the two factions battle, then the dust clears. Three people are left standing -- the IRUS soldiers were victorious, but one casualty fell with a alien blade lodged in their torso. Their sacrifice will not be forgotten by their squad.
IRUS, or the Interstellar Regiment for Unified Systems, is a pseudo-military peacekeeping organization whose mission is to keep Passe-Rath safe from threats both internal and external. They are nearly one thousand years old, and with a rich and lauded history of nobly defending against extraplanetary threats. However, recently they have been criticized for not being completely transparent with whom they protect and having questionable motives and methods.

Founding

In 945 BDL, four years after the end of the Talitanic War, a group of citizens in Passe-Makoa came together and discussed the destruction caused by the alien invaders and how such bloodshed could be prevented in the future. They had been discussing possible solutions and forming the foundations of IRUS for several years, and now they were ready to reveal it to the world.
The megacity was introduced to a new organization named the Unified Defense of Passe-Rath -- UDPR. Its purpose: to protect the entire planet from threats, with no preference towards any megacity.
