The First

In a world young and bright, Krst'kylae roamed the soft soil of the world alone. She liked it that was to begin with. Alone was fine, because there was no one else to be together with.   And then she wasn't alone. Aklen'th joined her.   Aklen'th was tall and strong. Born of mountain and darkness.   He knew nothing, until he knew Krst'kylae.   Then together they roamed the world, and from the soft soil grew green. Krst'kylae and Aklen'th delighted at the gift of colour, and when Krst'kylae cried at the beauty of their world, pools of blue formed from her tears, drowning the land.   Aklen'th pounded his fists into the ground upon seeing Krst'kylae's tears and jagged peaks with white heads rose from the ground in response to his distress. The water boiled with movement underneath it, as the ground rose up to try and chase it away. Seeing the sharpness of the ground that had always been so soft under her feet, Krst'kylae stopped crying, admiring the difference.   When Krst'kylae and Aklen'th got too tired to continue walking, they lay down, and the world continued without them.

Summary

The myth of the First supposedly details the creation of Syshir by the first Gods, or primordial beings.   The myth details how the first divine beings roamed a soft, pliable surface, and changed it into the diverse landscape we see today. Together, Krst'kylae and Aklen'th developed plants and nature, but the other formations on our planet were more side effects on their roaming.

Variations & Mutation

Krst'kylae, or Kristakylaen in some texts, was the very first being. Whether she was a Goddess, or a being of pure aether, it is up to debate by the past, present, and future religious historians.   Aklen'th is even more unknown. Was he her lover or her son? How could he come into being without the divine's Krst'kylae's hand? If so, he must be her son. If Krst'kylae could begin from nothing, then surely another could as well. A divine consort for one who spent so long alone.   In some texts, mountains were a gift from Aklen'th to Krst'kylae, rather than a reaction of anger. In others, Krst'kylae drowned firey crevasses borne of Aklen'th anger when a sea of green failed to thrive.   In all variations, however, Krst'kylae is the first, and it is Aklen'th's arrival that begins the transformation of the primordial world.
