Ogre

Large, brutish and quite dim-witted monsters, those ogres are, though not to be underestimated. We waged countless, never-ending wars against them and it was only by Galerion's leadership and personal valor that we managed to win. The origin of these louts lies in Ares' hands. The Fundamental of War "uplifted" power hungry humans in the early years of what the eastern mages call, First Awakening. These humans had to merely eat the fresh corpses of their foes and they would gain power unlimited. Hidden therein was one of Ares' many deceits: all power comes with a price. These ogres-to-be would gain strength, sure, but they also lost their reason and their humanity. They became a blight on the world itself; consuming everything in their path, leaving barren wastes in their wake. Luckily most of these creatures were wiped out in the wars, and only exist in remote locations far from civilized folk. One thing concerns me though. Giants, a more advanced form of ogre, have been seen in much greater numbers recently. These beings are much more dangerous than mere ogres, and not only because of their greater stature. Giants are actually intelligent, many of them incredibly so. But can we trust a being who murdered and cannibalized his way to such a form to be of good heart and conscience? I doubt it thoroughly but hope to be proven wrong.
