Steam Power

Very recently a scientist known as Jyoti the Red discovered a way to harness steam from boiling water and use it to make objects move. This has spurred a lot of new discoveries and research for machines that can be made more efficient by this.

Discovery

Steam as a source of power were very recently discovered by a researcher at the Royal University of Kaeeche by the name of Jyoti the Red. While he is attributed as the mind behind it all, the first working prototype was constructed by a team of engineers and researchers at the university.   The discovery very quickly spurred a bunch of different engineers to abandon their current projects and start to work on steam powered machines and objects, and even if not a lot have come from this yet the future might bring a lot of interesting things.

Uses

So far there are limited uses for steam power, although scientists agree that it won't be long before the uses will be more widespread.   The first thing every built to use steam power is a machine that is used to pump water. Although this might not sound that very useful, in Kaeeche it is. It has quickly been ordered to be set up at almost all mines, pumping away ground water that has filled shafts so that they can no longer be used. Being able to pump away the water will make it easier to mine deeper into the mountain.

Importance
Is making it possible to mine deeper, thus increasing profits in the mining industry

Spread
The use of steam powered pumps in the mining industry have spread across the mountain regions, as well as east through the Southern Union. The research of other uses for steam power has also spread throughout the Southern Union.
