Electrum Material in Superia | World Anvil

Electrum

These findings indicate not only a past relation with Morphisean civilizations and the Novalma natives, but also a well mantained trade between those groups.   Furthermore, the ledger indicates the high value given to a material known as electrum. Gouhenberg and Poliamn have researched this resource through previous records, identifying its use in both jewelry and a natural battery.
— The Long Standing World Under Sea. MAHELIAN, Hugh. UNE Conclusion Theses 1896.
A material previously considered mythological, electrum has been reintroduced to the world at large in 1916. Texts and records from ancient times indicate the use of this material in ancient crafting, up until the the fall of West Taiarania when the heirs of the declining empire ceased to produce records on the subject.   The material was alledgedly used in great inventions that didn't survive the last millenia, many of which seem to be dependant on superpowers. One such reported creation was an illumination system with batteries, which was bright enough to illuminate a two-room household for a full night for years before recharging.   After the re-discovery of the material, it took another 40 years to finally see use for it besides the relics and historical artifacts. Previously, only found in archeological sites or via investigation of antiques, a subaquatic research found traces of the material on ocean floor. Further analysis found rich deposits of the material underwater, in special on the Morphisean Sea.   At such deep levels, the exploration of these resources has been challenge for modern science, until truce with the morphisean civilizations was achieved. Prior to the truce in 1969, the existance of the underwater cultures of the morphiseans was no secret. However, no communication could be stablished and some groups were even aggressive against surface cultures.   The peace talks between Prince of Ghefranda and Empire of Korshia would start the an era of peace and commerce among surface and underwater civilizations. Other countries, from both sides of the sea-level, followed suit in fear of the advancements Korshia and Ghefranda would manage to achieve with this new diplomatic alliance.
