The Magician Sorcery Cypher, Alnea

  • The Magician Sorcery Cypher is a code that isn't fully understood in its meanings or abilities, however, some have been figured out by use of trial and error. It was invented and used primarily in the mid 300-400s, falling out of style shortly thereafter.
  • The peculiar shape of the language is what first draws the eye. A box with varying thicknesses on each side at first glance looks normal, but it is in fact a secret language used by many past and current sorcerers.
  • The line thickness either represents a word or a letter, depending on the context of the previous box, with the first box always being a word. The last box is also always a word.
  • Short sentences take up over 20 boxes on average, with the longest found sentence being over 1,000 boxes long.

Uses

  • Over the centuries, the MSC has been used in many ways, including as an official language, spy code, and most recently, magical enchantment.
  • As a language, the MSC was difficult and unusable in most instances, normally used as names of locations.
  • As a spy code, the MSC could be written anywhere, from scribbled on a piece of paper, to created using “crop squares.” Due to its ability to stand out, however, the MSC was never heavily used by spies to communicate.
  • Lastly, alchemists have recently figured out that if you make molds of the MSC, then pour any liquid into it, then solidify, the material becomes magically charged. Even if you broke the molded metal into smaller pieces, melted it again, then re-formed it, the magic would still stay attached to the metals, which was a far better alternative than finding magic-infused ores.
  • And so, the MSC transitioned from being a language to the holy grail of metalworking, and as magical armor and weapons became cheaper and more effective, the abilities of armies grew exponentially higher and more deadly than before.
