The Great Ocean Gate, Earth

The Great Ocean Gate
  • Operated by the Pacific Alliance, Western region of South America.
  • Finished in 2205 by Alexandre Devile (referred to as Alexander the Devil by many people outside of the PA
  • Consists of well over 5,000 anti-aircraft and anti oceanic military vehicle defense pylons, situated within millions of square miles of oceanic territory within the PA
  • Each one of the pylons has one of 4 fully automatic turrets operated by a highly advanced A.I. known only as “the ghost of Devile:”
  1. Pacific Alliance Standard .700
  2. Eccentric Rapid Automatic Machine-gun (PACERAM)
  3. Overclocked Saharan Kinetic Rail-gun (OSKR)
  4. Military Grade Heavy Laser Rocket Propelled Micro-Warhead (Devile’s Devil)

2315-2324, (WW4)

In total over 300 squadrons of fighter jets, 2 Aircraft Carrier groups, 21 New Californian Modified Stealth Bombers, 12 Destroyer groups, and 30 Nuclear Submarines were destroyed by the Great Ocean Gate, while the PA only lost 300 defense Pylons, which were rebuilt when the war was over. Over 30,000 Casualties overall.

List of Major Incidents

1. 2209
United Empire’s Air Force 1 Sustained major damage after taking off from a Pacific Alliance Airport. No casualties, but the A.I. was improved.
2. 2214
United Empire’s new modified Air Force 1 was shot down and destroyed by a rogue defense pylon hacked by New California. 96 dead, including the president of the United Empire. One of the catalysts for WW4 (2315-2324).
  3. 2239
Sunk the AUSS Drift (American Union) after accidentally crossing over the Primary Kill Line (PKL). 3 survivors, 1014 killed. A catalyst for WW4
  4. 2280
South American Jet Squadron 001 “Imperial Guard” shot down after accidentally crossing the PKL during a training exercise. All 25 jets shot down, no survivors.
  5. 2300
South American Jet Squadron 124 “Rescuers” accidentally shot down after intentionally crossing PKL to attempt to save a downed commercial jet within the Pacific Alliance. All 24 pilots were killed. The mistake was made because of a massive glitch within the A.I.’s targeting code temporarily giving the 124 access to the PA airspace. A catalyst for WW4.
  6. 2399
A glitch within the AI’s targeting software caused it to target the city of Azulus, decimating it within minutes, and firing upon it for hours afterward. 98% of the one million residents died after the first five minutes. With the remaining 2%, another 99% of them would die before the pylons could be stopped. In a city of around 1 million, only 234 survived. This incident swayed the PA civilians' opinions on the Great Ocean Gate, now fearing it instead of celebrating the fact that the GOG saved them from destruction countless times.
  7. 2434
Canadian Air Brigade 1 (Royalty Group) gets attacked while flying into Pacific Alliance airspace for a meeting. The plane carrying the press and Lady Yuvine, (leader of what was once Alaska) was shot down two miles from the PKL, 102 dead.

The end of the Great Ocean Gate?

On January 24, 2457, at approximately 10:18 pm, Operation Smooth Sailing commenced, with 4 NC-14 “Spearhead” jets flying deep into Pacific Alliance territory. This was possible when a few technical operators at the Californian Forward Operations Base discovered a massive flaw in the north pacific power input outpost that allowed them to disable over 900 defense pylons by rerouting power elsewhere. The mission was a success, with Eric Westfield and Christina Sabers taking out a control tower situated within a coastal city, however, the civilian casualties were immense, with the massive control tower falling on the rest of the city, killing 14,000 people. The Great Ocean Gate is currently disabled, the Pacific Alliance’s large Navy patrols their waters instead.
