Raccoon Ranch

Purpose / Function

Raccoon Ranch serves a dual purpose. Firstly, it is used as a storage building for the human family that lives in the house nearby. Secondly, and arguably the most important, as the home and headquarters for some of the most mischievous non fairies on the mountain. The Three Raccoons Rocky, Rings, and their charismatic leader Handz spend the majority of their days lazing about in the privacy of their barn. When night falls, they are quick to enact their latest plan to find food, add to their collection of baubles, or just generally mess with the faires.

Alterations

The humans have added several shelves and organizational bins. This has caused the once open space to become a maze. It is perfect for the raccoons to practice their hiding, sneaking, and hording.

Architecture

The barn is a simple two story structure with an ageing white paint. It has two large swinging doors on the ground floor and a flight of stairs leading to a small deck that allows access to the upper floor. The foundation is made packed dirt and crushed rocks. The walls of the first floor are unfinished with the studs and composite boards making the outer walls bare wood.

History

The barn was built shortly after the house. It sits next to, and was originally used as a wood workers shop. As the previous tenants got older, the barn transitioned into a storage dump while they moved. The current owners of the house began storing their boxes in the barn. When they moved in they had every intention of clearing the place out but every day hurdles prevented organization for many years. The boxes have continued to pile up and collect dust. Forgotten. This resulted in leaving an assortment of treasures left to be discovered.

Tourism

Not many faires enjoy coming to the Raccoon Ranch but given the propensity for the raccoons to steal, borrow, and help themselves to the faire's belongings many who live in the area need to make the visit frequently.
