Old Watermill
Clouds covered the moon, casting a shadow over the lower pond, giving cover to the dark fairy as they made their way back from raiding a group of Mud Boys. Slipping in the dark water, they felt their way to the underwater tunnel and swam until they surfaced near the rotating water wheel. Slipping a lose board up, they made their way inside, to tally up their stolen goods and share them among the group.
Purpose / Function
The building is currently the home and lair of the dark fairy.
Sensory & Appearance
Humans
When a human opens the door to the Old Mill they see nothing but cobwebs and old equipment slowly rusting. Searching the premises will not reveal anything else as the fey have laid many spells and enchantments on the place to hide their presence.Fae
As the fae or any fae turned enter, they will see the many cots and living spaces the dark fairies have built over the years. Their multi tiered camp consists of housing, a market area, and even workshops.Alterations
The old mill stone, gears, etc have been stripped out because the building is considered by the humans in the area to be a decorative monument. The inside has been modified into a comfortable hideout for the dark faries.
Architecture
The Old Mill is a squat white building made of timbers and age smoothed stone. The water wheel is bright red as is the attaching hardware.
History
Originally built in the 1800s, the mill was out of use when the land was sold in the 1950s. It was slowly deteriorating until the outside was restored over 50 years later when the main house was restored. The inside however, remains empty and used for storage, until the fey moved in.
Tourism
Very few fae visit the Old Mill because the dark fae are treated as outcasts, and to entertain them is to entertain banishment.
